| September 8th 2012The 28th Médoc MarathonCreated in 1984 by a bunch of passionate “Marathonians”, the “Médoc” as it is commonly nick-named has become over the years an unmissable event: one must run the “Médoc” just like the New York, London or Paris Marathons.
Conviviality is one of the main characteristics of this marathon, which was elected the most convivial race in France by its participants.
The party is everywhere: The famous “Mille-Pâtes” evening in a château for 1450 participants on the day before the race – the run itself with a departure show, 90% of participants running in costumes, shows and events along the race course, 22 food & drink stations, 21 tasting stations, special food stations (oysters, bacon, entrecôtes, cheese, ice-cream, grenier médocain etc.) – The party after the Marathon with music and dancing, fireworks and culinary delights. – The party day after the race with its famous recovery walk open to 4000 people, runners and volunteers.
