| June 2008"Le Pressoir d'Argent"A taste of the sea & nobility of work in the dining roomThe gourmet restaurant of the Regent Grand Hotel in Bordeaux, “Le Pressoir d’Argent”, opened on 9 June.
This new address in Bordeaux gives pride of place to the delicate flavours of seafood and invites its customers to discover the art of gastronomy by watching the chef at work in the dining room. A challenge ably matched by the talent of Yves Mattagne, star-winning chef of the “Sea Grill” restaurant in Brussels*, who has created the menu for “Le Pressoir d’Argent”, and the expertise of chef Pascal Nibaudeau, in charge of the kitchens.

| June 2008A wine museum opens in Bordeaux !The wine and trade museum in the historical Chartrons districtTucked in the heart of an 18th century buildings, typical of the design of Bordeaux wine negotiant properties, the museum is made up of three magnificent vaulted chambers where the visitor will find a plethora of extensively annotated exhibits which provide a comprehensive history of the traditional wine district of Bordeaux.
At the end of the visit, the museum offers the opportunity to taste Bordeaux wines (and others) carefully selected by our negotiants, an appropriate end to a fascinating visit! |

| September & OctoberWine Harvest 2008Two days entirely dedicated to the wine harvest for those who dream to experience what is generally accessible to wine professionals only.
Participating in the wine harvest is a unique occasion to learn about wine. Following the grapes from the vines to the vat-room, taking part in the work at the sorting table, observing the first fermentations, being able to taste the wines during the different vinification stages – this is the best introduction to the know-how and the methods necessary for the production of a great wine. Your course could not be more complete as, following an introductory session at the Wine School, you will participate at the wine harvest in the Sauternes vineyards renowned for their extraordinary sweet white wines as well as in the Medoc region which produces some of the greatest red wines in the world.

| September 6th 2008The 24th Médoc MarathonCreated in 1984 by a bunch of passionate “Marathonians”, the “Médoc” as it is commonly nick-named has become over the years an unmissable event: one must run the “Médoc” just like the New York, London or Paris Marathons.
Conviviality is one of the main characteristics of this marathon, which was elected three years in a row the most convivial race in France by its participants.
The party is everywhere: The famous “Mille-Pâtes” evening in a château for 1450 participants on the day before the race – the run itself with a departure show, 90% of participants running in costumes, shows and events along the race course, 22 food & drink stations, 21 tasting stations, special food stations (oysters, bacon, entrecôtes, cheese, ice-cream, grenier médocain etc.) – The party after the Marathon with music and dancing, fireworks and culinary delights. – The party day after the race with its famous recovery walk open to 4000 people, runners and volunteers and a mountain bike tour through the Moulis appellation.

| World Heritage 2007Congratulations Bordeaux!Bordeaux has been inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List!
The World Heritage Committee accepted the city's application on June 28th 2007 inscribing it as an outstanding urban and architectural ensemble of the Age of Enlightenment featuring innovative classical and neo-classical trends that translate into exceptional urban and architectural unity and coherence.
